What’s in your beach bag? My Turkish beach towel I brought back from Saint-Tropez (I love how the Europeans use such lightweight towels on the sand– which makes so much sense; they dry quickly and take up no room), a large bottle of Badoit sparkling water, my Sea Star Beachware espadrilles, a great book, a deck of cards to entertain my kids with go fish or gin rummy, and a corkscrew in case I run into a friend with a bottle of rose to share. Favorite Shopping Destination: I love Aerin’s chic summer shop in Southampton. Go-to Host Gift: Hands down my monogrammed Pickett’s Press roadie cups. They come in sets of 25 or 50 and are a huge hit. Plus, they’re shatterproof, dishwasher-safe and hostesses love them! Summer Wish List: A travel backgammon set from Aerin Southampton. Last Meal: Red Bar. It’s comforting, and I’ve been going there for 20 years. I almost invited Marcelo, who has been taking care of me there for almost that long of time, to my wedding.

The Beach Hut is a concession stand where kids line up, dripping with ice cream and carrying take-out food in thin cardboard boxes–it’s a scene right out of a 1950s beach movie. What’s in your beach bag? Warning: I carry a big straw bag from Kirna Zabete so I have a lot of room.
