An Aspen Getaway Sports A Clean, Contemporary Look

Interior designer Maria Bordelon infused an Aspen home with a warm, contemporary sensibility. A Kyle Bunting hide rug grounds the entry, where a bench by Bright Chair Company is upholstered with a Myung Jin mohair. Dessin Fournir lamps flank the Western Window Systems door from Architectural Windows & Doors.

Just off the entry, another Kyle Bunting rug lends color and texture and plays off the existing flagstone floor. Bordelon commissioned a custom ceiling-mounted sculpture by Rick Maxwell for the space; a painting by Basilios Poulos hangs above a walnut console.

Bordelon hung distinctive copper panels in the dining area. An Ochre chandelier hangs above a table featuring an HH Ruseau top and a Sutherland base. Chairs by Kerry Joyce Collection for Dessin Fournir upholstered with a material by Keleen Leathers offer ample seating.

Architect Gretchen Greenwood raised the formerly sunken living area to be level with the rest of the floor in the great room, where builders Ken Garvik and Quinn Garvik installed the new cedar ceiling. Bordelon appointed the space with a sofa and four armchairs by Berman Rosetti wearing a KnollTextiles fabric. A Mimi London coffee table rests on the area's leather shag rug.

In a second sitting area in the great room, a Cameron sectional sofa upholstered with a Myung Jin mohair pairs with a glass-top coffee table by Hellman-Chang; a sculptural klismos chair by Sutherland lends interest. In the bar area, A. Rudin chairs surround a Berman Rosetti game table underneath an Ochre light fixture.

Limestone installed by Aspen Tile & Bath Gallery highlights the floor and countertop of the master bathroom, which boasts sleek Poggenpohl cabinetry. The faucet is Dornbracht, and the expansive windows are by Western Window Systems.

Draperies made with a Calvin Fabrics textile frame the window in the master bedroom, where a custom bed upholstered with a material by Keleen Leathers anchors the cozy space. Three Organic Teak Cubes by Hudson Furniture lend a rustic touch, and a Holly Hunt side table pulls up to an A. Rudin chair upholstered with a Holly Hunt Great Plains fabric.
