Check In: Mountain Shadows

What once was old is new again, as the 1959 resort Mountain Shadows reemerges in Paradise Valley this year. When the midcentury hotspot was demolished three years ago, Scottsdale’s Westroc Hospitality and Dallas’ Woodbine Development Corporation partnered to bring it back to life. The rebuilt boutique hotel, which opened in February, boasts 183 rooms and suites, a restaurant and bar, an 18-hole golf course, two pools, a juice bar and a fitness facility. Those who prefer a more permanent stay can return in September, when the property will debut Mountain Shadows Resort Condominiums. Designed by Scottsdale-based Allen + Philp Architects, the 42 luxury units come with membership privileges at the posh resort next door.
