The Insider: Bridget Rogers

Today’s party hosts need convenience, insists Denver resident Bridget Rogers. “Our options have pretty much stayed the same,” she says. “No one has kept up with the needs of the modern host.”

That’s why she designed her online tablescape-rental service, Cloth + Gold, to make any in-home gatherings easier to pull off with style.

Her startup, launched in October, allows clients to rent one of six curated tablescapes, such as the rose gold and copper Dollface (below) or the chinoiserie-inspired Night in Provence.

While the patterns and color palettes differ, each comes with plates, chargers, flatware, wine glasses, linens, candlesticks and a vase for a setting of four. The day before the party, the kit is delivered, along with styling tips, a menu and a recommended Spotify playlist. The next day, users box it up–dirty dishes and all–and place it back on the doorstep for pickup.

The goal of Cloth + Gold, Rogers says, is to capture the intimacy and magic of a flawless party. “As anyone who has hosted a successful dinner knows,” she says, “creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable, relaxed and special is one of the best feelings in the world.”
