The Insiders: Temi and Tobi Adamolekun

In San Francisco, you can’t turn a corner without running into a new coworking space, but Radiant stands out. The mission of this women-only work space launched by husband-and-wife duo Tobi and Temi Adamolekun is to empower women and entrepreneurs by providing them with a creative environment that fosters collaboration. The goal was to work with a team of women-run businesses and artists to outfit the cozy space–as evidenced by the Hygge & West wallpaper, gallery wall from Framed & Matted, and art by Kelly Tunstall, Melissa Dickenson and Kelly DeFayette, plus greenery from Flora Grubb Gardens. Radiant regularly hosts speaker-led events, wellness workshops, meditation sittings and podcast clubs.
Here, the co-founders share what’s on their design radar in the Bay Area.
What’s intriguing you in design and architecture at the moment?
Tobi: We’re impressed with the The Digital Craft Lab at California College of the Arts. It encourages students to explore work that incorporates scientific and technological applications for architecture, design and digital fabrication using smart machines like three-dimensional printers.
Must-sees for design lovers:
Temi: Big Daddy’s Antiques vintage furnishings warehouse for its different styles, colors and textures. They do such a good job of merchandising there.
Tobi: The rooftop park designed by Rana Creek at the Transbay Transit Center. It’s a public space among downtown’s concentration of private office buildings that will provide much-needed green space in the Financial District.
Neighborhood to note:
Temi: Potrero Hill has changed so much over the 10 years we’ve lived here. It’s gone from mostly residential to an area for locally run businesses, and the library here is one of the most beautiful buildings in San Francisco.
