My biggest creative influences come from… My library. At nearly 2,500 vintage and out-of-print titles, it’s pretty much an endless source of inspiration. My husband put a moratorium on buying any more, but I’ve snuck in a few! Whose work has impacted you the most design-wise? Big L.A. designers of the 1980s–especially Kalef Alaton, whose famous house in West Hollywood I drive by all the time. I think a lot about how he, and so many others like him, would have continued to shape California design had they been given longer lives. He was only 49 years old when he died due to complications from AIDS. Ideal work trip: I would love to go on a driving tour of the United Kingdom to visit all the beautifully restored properties by The Landmark Trust.
