“We are known for working with giant specimen trees and rare palms. We have moved and planted everything from a nine-story Kapok tree to a four-story-tall Banyan tree that was so wide we had to cut it in five pieces to transport it. For the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, we used 10 large, rare and beautiful trees, and it truly made the landscape so special.”

“Each project should impress in its own unique way. Whether it is the way the plant material or physical elements frame an amazing view, or how I create an unexpected pattern on a driveway or pathway, or even the way the lighting brings it all together, the ‘wow’ test is in how the client ultimately feels in the space.”

“I’m a huge fan of dining alfresco, so I like to create totally unexpected dining gardens. It can be as simple as adding tall green hedges and pleached trees floating in gravel beds to an exterior space, and completing it with a long table, and great chairs. To me, that always creates a memorable moment.”

“Our clients are asking for a resort feeling. They want a place to relax, let go and forget about the hustle and bustle of the world. We utilize the incredible elements of nature and arrange them to create stunning spaces for entertainment and relaxation. Nothing transforms an area like the natural elements.”

“I prefer to produce a design that adheres to my clients’ style rather than sticking to a labeled approach. To me, it’s very important to create unity with the architecture. I tend to design landscapes in terms of accomplishing principles of design such as scale, balance, sequence and unity as they relate to line, shape and form.”
