At the height of harvest season, California wine country is a hot spot for September and October getaways. And with the summer debut of Las Alcobas in St. Helena — the first luxury resort to open in Napa in seven years — the idea of a Valley vacay has never sounded better.

Similar to its Mexico City sister property, The Luxury Collection hotel was designed by international firm Yabu Pushelberg. Its boutique approach and minimalist aesthetic are reminiscent of the natural beauty of wine country.

For the design, principals George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg kept in mind the Los Alcobas Napa Valley philosophy of “sobremasa,” which centers around the concept of family and friends staying together after a meal, enjoying each others’ company.

Situated on 3 acres next-door to the Beringer Vineyard, the property surrounds the historic Acacia House, a Georgian-style residence that was originally built in 1905.

The 68 guest rooms and suites are roomy–starting at a generous 450 square feet–and feature luxury amenities to form oasis-like retreats. Fireplace-adorned outdoor terraces with soaking tubs and private balconies; spa-like bathrooms; linen upholstered headboards; and handmade soaps made with local wine are among the many extra touches that contribute to a luxurious, effortless California aesthetic.

The hotel also features a 50-seat restaurant led by chef Chris Cosentino, whose holistic and contemporary approach creates a refreshing dining experience.

To put the cherry on top of the Napa Valley resort’s experience, the 3,500-square-foot Atrio spa takes relaxation to the next level. Custom experiences with roots in ancient Asian techniques allow guests to participate in personalized aromatherapy blending sessions with spa curator Marjorie Charlton.

Take a peek at the property in the pictures, below.

Las Alcobas Napa Valley is located at 1915 Main Street in St. Helena, California. Rooms start at $695 a night.
