After years of searching for a lot to start the next phase of their lives, a longtime Phoenix couple found the perfect location in Paradise Valley on a hillside perch overlooking a private golf course and offering spectacular views of Camelback Mountain. With a clear idea of the home’s design, they gathered their dream team to realize this vision.
“They were wonderful clients,” says architect Mark Candelaria, who worked with colleague Jeff Kramer on the project. “They jumped right into the process and made their wishes clear.”
Those wishes included a casual indoor-outdoor flow, a bright and airy kitchen that worked as easily for two as it would for a crowd and, of course, unobstructed views of the mountains.
For the interiors, the couple tapped designer Donna Vallone, who melded historical pieces including reclaimed-wood beams and French limestone floors with eclectic elements such as a chinoiserie tiger print chair as well as a Hunt Slonem bunny painting for good measure.
Now settled in their new abode, the couple have enough room for visiting family members or just a relaxing day to themselves–and they have their skilled design team to thank.
