Talking Shop With Debra Gildersleeve

Renee’s

On Long Island’s North Fork, Renee’s is a hot spot for modern, beachy furnishings and accessories. As the business celebrates 40 years, owner/interior designer Debra Gildersleeve looks back–and forward.

How has Renee’s evolved?

We started out as a small boutique carrying women’s clothing and accessories. We now have two showrooms and a design center. Furniture and home decor is about 90 percent of our business.

How have you garnered such loyal customers?

It’s important to have great relationships with my clients and be hands-on throughout the process. Our team designs everything from single rooms to whole homes, ensuring we bring our clients’ visions to life in a beautiful and functional way.

What’s next?

We are collaborating with other businesses on design projects and added outdoor furniture to our lineup.
