When Cardenio Petrucci, owner of Dsegnare, decides what to showcase at his high-end San Francisco design studio, he curates with a respected history of craftsmanship in mind. “I collaborate with designers I know well and whose work I have followed over time,” he says.
These two tenets led Petrucci to launch his latest private label collection, MelePetrucci, with longtime friend and Starbucks senior global concept designer Erich Mele. The two collaborated with master woodworker Adam Vorrath on the first piece in the collection, the Tolendra (featured above), an elegantly sculpted dining table made of ebonized wild oak and polished-brass legs.
The Tolendra represents what is still to come in the collection–expect European refinement blended with timeless minimalism. Next up, look for a credenza and sofa with similar sensibilities.
