Color is powerful–it excites, persuades and can even trick the eye. Peruse more than 190 objects–from an antique peacock feather fan to psychedelic art by Victor Moscoso–in “Saturated: The Allure and Science of Color,” an exhibition on view at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum through January 13.

Discover how designers apply ideas from the world’s greatest color thinkers and view pages of more than three-dozen rare books about color theory. Explore how scientists and artisans have created hues, and learn how color can be used to de fine spatial relationships and how product designers use color to entice consumers.
