A Venerable Portland Shop Caters To Design Lovers

Talking Shop

Cielo Home

A peek into Portland’s Cielo Home offers plenty of fodder for the design-obsessed: impeccably preserved antiques sourced during the European travels of owners Matthew Boyes and Frederic Koeleman, locally crafted custom pieces upholstered in couture fabrics, and small gifts such as Diptyque candles and decoupage trays by John Derian.

Nearing its 20th year, both in business and the city’s Pearl District, the shop is always evolving, making room for the latest furniture finds or hosting events. Their Saturday Salons offer a reception and chat with a different local artist each weekend, a testament to their deep-seated network of friends and clients.

In addition to fostering community and providing stylish wares, the Cielo mix also includes interior design services.
