alk into this South Florida home, and you’re greeted with vistas of the Intracoastal Waterway.
It’s a view that homeowners Alberto Galsky and Jannette Zafrani don’t take for granted — and one their build team only worked to enhance by constructing a unique three-story structure complete with a wraparound terrace.
Drawing inspiration from the sight line of the Golden Beach home, the entry features black granite steps that lead visitors over a dual water feature, creating the illusion the estate is floating on water.
“The house is very open in front,” landscape architect Juan Pacheco says. “I wanted to create an oasis between the street and the front door.”
Inside, the white, light-filled living space is peppered with clean-lined furnishings, a selection of antique pieces, and contemporary works from Israeli, Venezuelan and Peruvian artists.
Keeping in mind their clients’ large family, designers Debbie Flicki, Hani Flicki and Sete Bassan worked to create intimate spaces — such as a dining room that fits 24 — where their children and grandchildren could gather.
The couple’s favorite spot, however, is the 1,600-square-foot master bedroom on the top level of the property.
“There are no buildings or trees to obstruct the views,” Alberto says. “So you just see the canal.” Adds Jannette: “It’s amazing.”
